Preparing for Camp

Preparing for Camp Personal Equipment Checklist:

  • Water bottle

  • Dunk Bag (Plate, cup, bowl, eating utensils in a hanging mesh bag)

  • Completed & signed medical form Medications, with directions, original containers

  • Duffle bag or pack

  • Swimsuit (pack on top)

  • Towels (pack on top)

  • Field uniform (Class A)

  • Hiking shoes/boots

  • Rain jacket/poncho

  • Sweatshirt/light jacket

  • Hat

  • Sunscreen

  • Shower shoes/sandals

  • Camp/Scout T-shirts Underwear (Red, orange, green, blue, purple, teal)

  • Socks (6+ pair)

  • Washcloth Soap & Shampoo

  • Toothbrush & paste

  • Hairbrush or comb

  • Flashlight & batteries

  • Insect repellent (non-aerosol)

  • Pocketknife (optional)

  • Personal first aid kit

  • Sleeping bag or sheets & blanket

  • Cot

  • Pillow

  • Pajamas

  • Camp chair

  • Merit badge advance work & writing materials

  • Scouts BSA Handbook

  • Spending money

  • Watch

Phones are allowed, however, they will be collected and stored by the troop. The Scout may request their phone to take pictures, but they will not have access to call home. If something is wrong at camp, trust us, we will be in touch. Other than that, don't expect to get a call or text from your Scout. Please do not send your scout to camp with tablets, computers, or Smartwatches.

Prohibited items: firearms or ammunition, fireworks, alcoholic beverages, drugs, and aerosol products

Items not recommended: electronic devices (such as Nintendo Switch, iPods), items of value, and extra food. Campers should mark all of their equipment and clothing with their names.

A Scout is welcome in any Scout camp, whether or not he or she owns a Scout uniform.
